Darien Baldwin is an award-winning American Producer and Production Management Specialist with a diverse repertoire of works in top-rated network television – scripted and unscripted, new media, movie, independent features, music video, entertainment and commercial creative.
Baldwin has produced and production managed content for ESSENCE, Cover Girl, BET Networks, TV One, and Sony Music Entertainment, while working alongside Academy Award-winners Viola Davis, Cuba Gooding Jr., and Jennifer Hudson; Critically-acclaimed Filmmakers Spike Lee and Forest Whitaker; Tracee Ellis Ross, Angela Bassett, Roger Guenveur Smith, Michael B. Jordan, Tasha Smith, Janelle Monae’, Mack Wilds and Floyd Mayweather Jr., to name a few.
As a graduate from The Art Institute of Atlanta with a B.F.A in Digital Filmmaking and Media Production, Baldwin’s career introductions to entertainment and creative services were during his tenure as Brand Executive and Producer for award-winning Photographer, Derek Blanks. Through innovative brand strategy and strategic partnerships, including the Derek Blanks Alter-Ego series, as made popular by NeNe Leakes and the Real Housewives of Atlanta, Baldwin is credited for the creative resurgence of the Derek Blanks Brand, firmly imprinting Blanks’ imaginative collection of works in pop culture.
As an independent Creative, Baldwin is a Producer and Production Manager for Swirl Films Productions, an Atlanta-based entertainment brand founded by Eric Tomosunas, focused on providing production services for urban content. Buzz-worthy works include When Love Kills: The Falicia Blakey Story (TV One; NAACP Image Award Nominee for Outstanding Television Movie, Limited-Series or Dramatic Special), Saints and Sinners (Bounce TV; seen by 7.5 Million Viewers), and Oscar Pistorius: Blade Runner Killer (Lifetime).
In collaboration with TV One for “Behind the Movement”, the unique fast-paced retelling of how Rosa Parks’ refusal to give up her seat launched the history-making Montgomery Bus Boycott, the producing team for Swirl Films Productions, including Baldwin, were awarded the 2018 Bronze Telly Award for Best History Film.
Baldwin serves as Co-Producer for the BET anthology series, Tales Season 2, created by Irv Gotti and produced by Visionary Ideas Entertainment.
